A Story in Sand
This video investigates how sediment grains are formed by weathering, how they are transported by water and wind, and the types of sediment that result from these processes. Specifically, it focuses on what happens to granite and the minerals in it, using exposures of granite in Devon, UK, the sediments being transported by streams to the coast and processes on a beach and a field of coastal sand dunes. A Story in Sand is the focus of Activity 5.2 in Book 6. Video running time: 21 minutesEstimated study time: 1 hour
